NIHR organizes a Workshop on “Bullying and its Impact on Human Rights”
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) organized a workshop entitled “Bullying and its Impact on Human Rights”. It was presented by Mr. Bassim Mohammed AL Sharji. Research and Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Law, University of Bahrain, and Ms. Azhar Khalil El-Shula, Social Researcher at Batelco Care Centre for Family Violence Cases.
The workshop, which was held at the NIHR’s Training Center, was aimed at enhancing the awareness of taking the necessary measures to ensure the protection of society against the negative effects of bullying, reduce this phenomenon and elucidate the relationship between bullying and human rights.
The workshop, which included a number of representatives of ministries, relevant parties and civil society organizations, also called for the need to limit the spread of this phenomenon through organizing workshops and awareness lectures for parents, students and school administrators and training them on how to handle such cases.
This event falls within the NIHR’s mandate in the promotion and dissemination of human rights culture through holding lectures and training courses for all segments of society in subjects related to human rights.
